I decided I needed to renew my makeup collection and went straight to the drugstore, where you have tons of options and very good prices. I did my prior research on specific items I was looking for, like the Maybelline Concealer, but ended up bumping into the Bourjois Foundation. I figured to give it a go.
The Bourjois City Radiance is a new foundation specially designed for the daily city life. It has an anti-pollution formula, contains SPF 30, it’s hydrating and promises a fresh and luminous complexion with radiance-boosting pigments. Comes in 6 shades and I got the 04 Beige shade, though I could get away with a lighter color. I find it has medium coverage and a nice semi-satin finish that looks natural. Don’t expect it to be anything like a super illuminating product as Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer, so I guess slightly oily skin can easily use this foundation without fearing the extra glow (and it’s non-comedogenic). I do powder it so it stays longer, and it does have a nice staying power. I’m very pleased with this foundation and use it when I go out – daytime or nighttime. You’ll look fresh, natural and polished.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind / Erase Eyes is a concealer that comes in a tube with a sponge type applicator. They say their active formula reduces the look of puffiness and erase dark circles, while brightening the eye area. It is very very lightweight, blends easily and looks extremely natural. The only drawback to me is that it is not as full coverage as it claims to be, and it does not erase my dark circles by far. Apparently there’s a shade called “neutralizer” for extreme dark circles but I did not find it here in the UK. Looking at their UK website seems that the formula is a bit different and there are only two shades: nude and light (mine is light). I like to use it though as my day to day concealer and it also works well as a highlighter if you get the lighter shade. And it does not crease!! That’s particularly great if you have fine lines and if you’re searching for a very natural looking and feeling concealer. Nobody wants their concealer creasing anyway!
What are you guys using at the moment?
